Walk A Mile in Her Shoes
Walk A Mile in Her Shoes is White Ribbon’s largest annual fundraising event. Men are asked to put on a pair of high-heels and walk a mile from Yonge-Dundas Square through the Financial District to raise funds and show support for ending violence against women.
We invite you to join us on Thursday, May 21 from 12 – 2 pm for Walk A Mile In Her Shoes. Over 1,000 men (and women) will come together at Yonge Dundas Square to participate in the Walk, raise funds for White Ribbon, and stand up and speak out about violence against women.

Kids to Teens Yoga Teacher Training: May 29 - 31 2015
This course is designed to help yoga instructors, daycare workers, ECE, Elementary and High School teachers to add a new skill set to their toolbox! This course will help those enrolled to hone their skills in teaching yoga to young people of various age groups. Learn energizing poses, calming poses and breathing styles that encourage focus and self- awareness while giving children and teens tools they can use for a lifetime! Participants will learn fun filled sequences, as well as how to develop class structure, and marketing classes and courses. Nannies and parents who are interested in bringing yoga into the home can also take this course.

Clean Toronto Together 2015
The city's annual spring clean-up is back on Friday, April 17!
Led by the City of Toronto's Live Green Toronto team, the Clean Toronto Together campaign is a weekend celebration that brings together thousands of Toronto residents, students, businesses, organizations and community groups to remove litter and keep our city clean and green.
You can do your part by getting together with friends, family, co-workers and classmates to clean a park, or any other space that needs your help.

The Hanging of Lount and Matthews: A Rebellion Walking Tour

Samuel Lount and Peter Matthews were hanged for treason on April 12, 1838, following the 1837 Rebellion. William Lyon Mackenzie, one of the leaders of the Rebellion, escaped to exile in the United States. This walk explores the changes in Mackenzie's Toronto upon his return in the 1850s and climaxes with a dramatic performance in Courthouse Square. FREE

Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre Events
Year-round guided tours of this National Historic Site – the last operating double-decker theatre in the world – last for 1½ hours and recount the history and restoration of the complex. Visit the original and new lobbies, the elegant Elgin Theatre, the unique and resplendent Winter Garden Theatre and samples from the world’s largest collection of vaudeville scenery. As well, a backstage exhibit housing the Winter Garden’s original Simplex Silent Film Projector and a dressing room containing artifacts from the time period are on view.

Orpheus and Eurydice

Opera Atelier’s 2014-15 season continues with the Berlioz version of Gluck’s Orpheus and Eurydice, a timeless love story based on the Greek myth. Driven by love and wracked with grief and uncertainty, Orpheus descends into the underworld on a heroic mission to return his beloved to the land of the living. His passionate music wins their freedom, but the true test has just begun. This timeless love story is lavishly brought to life in Opera Atelier’s signature baroque style, even as this Berlioz version marks Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra’s furthest foray into 19th-century orchestration.
