Bel Brasil (Enizabel Kohlrausch) was born in Porto Alegre, the daughter of the famous 7 string violão player, chorinho expert and music professor Abílo Kohlrauch. At nine years of age she began singing with her father in small groups where she began honing her obvious talent. Soon after she joined choirs at school and in church, where she was quickly recognized as a promising young artist. But music wouldn’t make ends meet when she married and had a son, so Bel decided to go into business, working in marketing and publicity for 15 years. After separating from her husband in 1993 she pursued her lifelong dream to become a professional musician, moving to São Paulo where she began performing in all of the city’s famous night clubs and cabarets. It was there where she first met Filó Machado – and the chemistry was instantaneous! They have been working together ever since. Currently Bel lives in Paraty, Rio de Janeiro, performing nightly in the busy, historic town where people come from the world over to hear her luxuriously sensual voice.
Bel and Filó have performed in the gala event of the year, Toronto’s Brazilian Carnaval Ball. This visit we will be treated to a special evening of intimacy, in an ideal setting for this marvellous chanteuse.
