Despite the large size of Toronto, Downtown Yonge is a relatively concentrated area, located in the center of the downtown core. It is easily accessible by car, regional transit and public transit, with 3 subway stops and 3 streetcar lines.
By Car
From Highway 404/DVP, take the Richmond St exit and travel west until you reach Yonge St. This is the southernmost tip of the Downtown Yonge B.I.A.
Coming from the east on Highway 401, take the DVP south and follow the directions above.
Coming from the west on Highway 401, you have two options:1) Take the Yonge Street exit and travel south. After you pass Bloor Street, you will shortly reach Grosvenor/Alexander Streets, the northernmost tip of the Downtown Yonge B.I.A. You will see the Courtyard by Marriott hotel on the southeast corner.
2) Take Highway 427 south and go east on the QEW which turns into the Gardiner Expressway. From the Gardiner Expressway, take Bay Street North. A few blocks north on Bay Street, you will come to Richmond Street. Here you will see the Hudson’s Bay Company on the northeast corner.
From the Gardiner Expressway, follow the directions above.
From Lakeshore Boulevard, either east or west, go north on Yonge Street to Richmond Street, which is the southern border of the Downtown Yonge B.I.A. The Hudson’s Bay Company will be on the northeast corner.

Parking
With over 5,000 parking spaces in the area (see map), you won’t have to spend much time searching for a spot. In addition to many above and below ground parking lots, there are parking meters on some of the side streets, such as College Street, Edward Street, Elm Street and Victoria Street.[Back to Top]
By Subway
There are 3 subway stations in Downtown Yonge that are accessible using the Yonge Street line.

-Dundas Station (Yonge and Dundas)
-Queen Station (Yonge and Queen)

By Streetcar
College/Carlton Street, Dundas Street and Queen Street all have streetcar lines that run east and west and make stops at the subway. Exit the streetcars at Yonge Street and you will find yourself directly in Downtown Yonge.

GO Transit (regional transit)
For those who are taking the GO Transit system, Union Station (located on Front Street between Bay and York Streets) is the closest GO stop to Downtown Yonge. From Union Station, take the Yonge subway line north to the Queen, Dundas or College stations. If you want to walk, go north on Bay Street, and once you have past Richmond Street, you are on the southwest corner of the boundary of the Downtown Yonge area, with the Hudson’s Bay Company on the right. VIA Rail
VIA rail system provides rail service throughout Canada, and it stops at Union Station in Toronto. Once at Union Station, follow the same directions as listed under GO Transit. Bus: Once departing the Bay Street bus terminal, you will find that the terminal is located across from the Downtown Yonge area near the corner of Bay and Dundas Streets.
