Fresh Start Coffee Co. is hosting its sixth annual pancake breakfast on Tuesday February 16 in celebration of Mardi Gras and to support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. All proceeds from pancake sales during this event, which starts at 6:30am and ends at 12:30pm, will go to the foundation. February 16 marks the end of Mardi Gras, which always ends on the Tuesday before the Christian season of Lent. Traditionally, pancakes were eaten before Lent to consume food items that were forbidden during this period, namely flour, eggs and fat.
