This June 22 through September 18 we invite you to sit back, relax and soak in the sun as you enjoy a free concert series at different locations with in the Downtown Yonge area.

Grab some food from your favourite Downtown Yonge BIA restaurants or food courts, and let us take you on a journey around the world through music at the four different locations.

This year’s season is curated by Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall. In addition to operating the iconic theatres, Massey Hall and Roy Thompson Hall presents over 400 events of all kinds in their halls and dozens more on stages across Toronto

They are committed in finding new and engaging ways to showcase the range of talent, diversity and possibilities of our Music City and their partnership with the Downtown Yonge BIA brings a summer’s worth of amazing programming to Play the Parks.

Come join us on June 22nd to celebrate as Play the Parks 2016 kicks off at Trinity Square Park with a free concert starting at 5:00PM!

Dance Inspiring Fusion of the Americas

A gathering place for danceable rhythms from across the Americas. Salsa, samba and more, are reimagined to feature a wider variety of genre-defying music from the best established and emerging artists in the city.

Shapeshifting Classical
Old-world traditions meet contemporary new possibilities. This series reflects on the legacy of both Toronto’s first mayor, William Lyon Mackenzie, and on classical music: We look back to what defines the classical music rooted in Mackenzie’s city, and forward, to what defines the music and the Music City Toronto has become.
