Why is Downtown Yonge the premier shopping and entertainment destination in the Greater Toronto Area?
• A significant 57% of visitors to the District have the express purpose of shopping and the mean spend is over $100/person on average.
• Shoppers enjoy a range of shopping choices, with four malls – including Toronto Eaton Centre, Atrium on Bay, College Park and 10 Dundas East - and a multitude of unique and boutique streetfront retail.
•Toronto Eaton Centre achieves the highest retail sales per square foot of any mall in Canada, at $1,143/sq.ft.
•Some 124,000 residents live within a 20-min radius of Downtown Yonge and close to 6,000 residential units completed, approved and proposed in and around Downtown Yonge.
•About 41,000 office workers come into Downtown Yonge everyday for work, with retail potential estimated at $265 million a year.
